Assistant District Attorney Mitch Eisenberg joined the Navy in 1995 at the age of 18, attending the Naval Academy and serving for 25 years as an officer at sea and as a lawyer in the Judge Advocate General Corps after earning his law degree in 2007 and then a master’s degree in National Security and U.S. Foreign Relations Law 2013. After the Navy, he focused his support on the local Knox County community. Having prosecuted various type of crimes, everything from someone stealing an energy drink from Wal-Mart to multiple co-defendant drug conspiracies and gang homicides, he assumed the role as the team leader in the DUI unit in the summer of 2023. A recognized expert in impaired driving cases, and specifically vehicular homicide by intoxication cases, he has effectively prosecuted dozens of homicide cases and taught agencies across Tennessee how to effectively investigate and prosecute these complex cases.
