Charlie began his Law Enforcement Career in 1972 as a Dispatcher for the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

In 1976, he was accepted into the O.H.P. Training Academy in Oklahoma City and upon Graduation was assigned to the Noble County Detachment of Troop-K .

Charlie had an active Career and was recognized for Outstanding work in DUI and Drug Enforcement. He was a member of the first {Joint Drug Interdiction Team} composed of Troopers, Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics Officers and Canines.

On April 19th,1995 Charlie made the Arrest of his Career. As a result of a Routine Traffic Stop, “Tim McVeigh”, one of the Individuals Responsible for the Bombing of the “Alfred P. Murrah” Federal Building in Oklahoma City, was taken into Custody on Traffic and Firearms Charges. He had yet to be named as a Suspect in the Bombing.

In 1998, Charlie was promoted to the rank of 2nd Lieutenant and assigned as a Supervisor for Osage and Pawnee Counties in Troop-K.

In 2000, Charlie transferred to the “Special Operations Troop” as a Supervisor over the “Criminal Interdiction Unit”. Charlie, his 8 Troopers, and canines worked the northern half of the state and panhandle searching for wanted individuals and drug traffickers.

From July 2000 to December 2004 the following Seizures were made.

20,566 pounds of Marijuana
1,562 pounds of Cocaine
325 pounds of Methamphetamine
$26,089,032.00 in U.S. Currency
Numerous Wanted Individuals

This was accomplished as a result of the dedicated efforts of the highly trained troopers I had the privilege to supervise!

In 2005 Charlie began a new law enforcement career as the Sheriff of “Noble County”, where he served the citizens of Noble County for 16 years, retiring in 2020.

Charlie and his wife Beverly are enjoying their Retirement by Traveling and spending more time with Family.
